Required Qualifications

• Masters Degree from an accredited institution
in degree in library science or library and
information science.

• A minimum of five years’ experience in an
academic library or community college library

1. Develops and implements policies and
procedures to ensure that the Library
supports the educational programs of the

• Develops and maintains the Library

3. Coordinates, directs, and evaluates the
Library Program Review
• Recommends staffing needs to upper
administration and Human Resources

4. Evaluates and maintains up-to-date
library resources including print, audio
visual, electronic products and on-line
• Acquires appropriate library print and
non-print materials
• Catalogs and processes library

5. Oversees to ensure the instruction and
public services essential functions and
services meet the needs of the library’s

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director of Library Services, oversees the library budget, represents and advocates for the library to the College administration, and works with the library personnel to ensure that essential library functions are performed and that the CMI Community is well served by the library staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Archival experience
• Experience with maintaining the library as
a cultural and community center
